Soffit & Fascia in Franklin

Soffit & Fascia for Franklin homes

Franklin pairs a historic downtown and older streets with large newer subdivisions, so roofs here range from century-old homes to houses on their first set of shingles. Painted wood fascia and soffits on older Franklin homes often hide rot where gutters have overflowed for years. We replace damaged wood, wrap the fascia in aluminum and add vented soffit so the attic can breathe.

What's included

Vented aluminum soffit, fascia wrap and rot repair for a clean roofline and proper attic intake. Depending on your roof, the work can include:

• Vented aluminum soffit
• Fascia capping
• Rot repair
• Pest damage
• Baffles and airflow
• Rot spreads.
• Gutters need a solid board.
• It points to the cause.
• It's cheaper now.

Full details, how the work runs and common questions are on our main soffit & fascia page.

Local conditions in Franklin

Many older Franklin homes still have painted wood fascia and soffits with little ventilation, while newer homes often have gutters that are undersized for the roof area above them. Updating the whole roofline at once usually solves overflow, rot and attic airflow problems together.

Questions to ask before you hire

Whoever you hire for soffit & fascia in Franklin, get clear answers to these before signing:

• Will you replace rotted wood before capping it?
• Will the new soffit be vented, and is insulation blocking airflow?
• How will you deal with any animal entry points?
• Will the colors match my gutters and windows?

Permits and approvals

Building permits in Franklin are handled by the City of Franklin. Replacing shingles with similar materials often doesn't need a permit, but structural repairs, new roof framing and new skylight openings generally do, and homes in Franklin's historic districts may need design approval for exterior changes. We confirm what applies to your project during planning.
